Prof.Tan has won the State Council Special allowance, the Teaching Celebrities Award of Jilin University, the Teaching Celebrities Award of Jilin Province, and the Excellent Teacher Award of Baogang Education Foundation. He edited and published Mechanical Design, a national planning textbook, and won many provincial and national teaching achievement awards. He is engaged in the scientific research of computer vision measurement and tribology. As the person in charge and the main participant, he has completed four natural science foundation projects and more than ten provincial and ministerial-level projects. He has cultivated 22 doctoral graduates, including one doctoral student from Africa, and published more than 50 academic papers.
